This position may be offered as a permanent part-time 0.8 FTE (K–12 focus) OR as two permanent part-time 0.4 FTE positions, one a Primary focus (K-6) and one a Secondary focus (7-12).  The commence date/s will be negotiated with the Team Leader Students with Disabilities. 


The Catholic Schools Office is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person to enhance educational outcomes for students with disabilities within the system of schools. This position sits with the Catholic Schools Office, System Performance Team. This position will support the implementation of the 2016 Review into the provision of Additional Needs support in the Armidale Diocese.


The successful applicant will work as part of multidisciplinary team within the system of schools and other networks to support students and teachers.


Essential

  1. Demonstrated commitment to support the ethos and values of Catholic schools.
  2. Recognised formal qualifications in one or aspects of Students with Disabilities and Learning Difficulties and qualifications in the field of education.
  3. Experience working in schools or with multidisciplinary teams in support of students with disability.
  4. Working with Children Check clearance.
  5. Current driver’s license and willingness to undertake travel including overnight stays to fulfil the requirements of the role.
  6. Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in teams.
  7. Highly developed skills in the use of technology for a variety of work functions as well as familiarity with a range of assistive technology options that support communication and learning.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  9. Hold appropriate qualifications or willingness to obtain as per Framework for Accreditation of Staff in Catholic Schools.


Desirable

  1. Ability to work within a project management framework for the delivery of support.
