St Mary’s College is a Roman Catholic Sixth Form College with approximately 1,000 full time students aged 16-19 and over 400 adult learners.

St Mary’s College seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher to join the highly successful Science Department which enjoys an excellent reputation across Pennine Lancashire.

The College prides itself on a thriving Department with a history of producing outstanding results in the STEM subjects.

Since the state-of-the-art Graystone Science Centre was opened, the Faculty has seen continued growth.  The purpose-built facility has nine specialist labs, all equipped to the highest standards, but the real credit for the level of achievement is due to the commitment to excellence that is shared by staff and students alike.

St Mary’s has introduced the Science Plus enhancement initiative / Olympiad Challenge in all STEM subjects to support the highest achievers who are looking to careers such as Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy and Optometry. Science Plus offers a range of timetabled lessons and extra activities including preparation for specialist university entrance exams.

The successful candidate should be able to teach across a range of courses including GCSE, BTEC Level 3 Applied Science, AS and A2 Biology.

St Mary's College is a further education college based in Blackburn. It is a Roman Catholic college.

The college offers A Level and vocational programmes that allow learners to tailor a personal programme to fit their talents and interests. It also has in-house student guidance staff who offer advice and support for all learners’ key decisions about higher education or employment.

Over the past few years, St Mary's College has spent over £13 million on developing what it considers to be a 21st century campus. All the college’s teaching and sports facilities are on-site.
