Job overview
An enthusiastic, motivated and inspiring Teacher of Business and/or Economics is required for a permanent post from September 2019. Applications will be considered from both newly qualified and established teachers. Applicants must demonstrate real experience in their subject and possess the aptitude and skills as a teacher to inspire a love of learning. The ability to offer a second subject is desirable, though not essential.
Our Sixth Form has 500 students and regularly achieves excellent A level outcomes. Business and Economics are popular subjects with high numbers of students selecting the courses. At GCSE and A Level our track record of success to Oxbridge, in students taking up places at Russell Group and other top universities indicates the academic rigour and high-quality teaching our students experience.
George Abbot School is a large 11-18, mixed comprehensive, situated in the north side of Guildford, within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station. It is a forward-looking and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi-academy trust. We also have Teaching School status.
