Teacher of Business Studies (Full time)

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our outstanding Business Department. We are looking for a candidate who has experience of teaching A level and GCSE Business Studies who is prepared to be trained to teach and oversee the BTEC  National Level 3 Business (the two-year A level equivalent course).

We are seeking a dedicated teacher with excellent communication skills to deliver challenging and ambitious lessons. This role will suit an inspirational teacher who is open to new ideas, is flexible and hardworking.  Any real-world experience of business or the ability to teach other subjects (e.g. Economics or Accounting) should be mentioned, although these are not essential in applications for this role.

The successful applicant will teach within the iconic new Business School, which has dedicated boardroom and lecture theatre space.  This building is the hub for a thriving and innovative department, dedicated to stretching and challenging pupils not only within the Business department subjects, but also for driving the acquisition of employability skills in all Wrekin pupils.

Wrekin College is a busy school set within its own attractive and spacious grounds.  A willingness to be fully involved in the school’s co-curricular programme and the whole life of the school is important. This will include Saturday morning activities and an evening boarding duty.  Accommodation may be available for the successful candidate.

Wrekin College is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11-18 situated in beautiful Wellington, Shropshire. It is part of the Allied Group of schools and is also a member of HMC. With interest in Wrekin at an all-time high, we now have circa 570 pupils pupils on roll.

Wrekin College was first opened in 1880 by philanthropist and businessman Sir John Bayley, in the Shropshire market town Wellington. It started out as a boys-only school; girls were admitted to the sixth form in 1975 and to the rest of the school in 1983.
