We are looking for an ambitious Teacher of English to join us from January 2019.  We have excellent facilities, a caring and welcoming school community with committed staff and a supportive leadership team. We require enthusiastic, confident candidates who can deliver outstanding teaching. 

The English faculty is a collaborative and creative department, driven by the pursuit of academic excellence. The department exists of experienced subject specialists who are reflective practitioners with an interest in pedagogy and a drive to improve outcomes for our students. We encourage our teachers to participate in whole school opportunities for professional development and ensure that our pedagogy is evidence informed. We are at an exciting stage in our journey towards a knowledge-rich curriculum that will allow our students to be successful in all of their endeavours.

About Arts & Media School Islington

Arts & Media School Islington is a co-educational, comprehensive trust foundation school in north Islington, London. 

The Victorian school building was originally home to Montem Street School, later becoming known as Tollington Park Secondary School and, more recently, as George Orwell School.

In 2014, Arts & Media School Islington was selected to be one of 12 schools in London to participate in the Music in Secondary Schools Trust  (MISST) programme, which aims to develop team-working skills, improve discipline and enrich the learning of students through the creativity of music.

Key stage 3 students at Arts & Media School Islington receive an orchestral string instrument alongside compulsory musical education for three years, all free of charge.

Arts & Media School Islington’s vision of “every child a scholar” is built upon a strong academic GCSE core, enriched by the arts. The school aims to establish challenging academic goals, which its students are expected to aspire towards and surpass.
