The Governors are seeking to appoint a History Teacher to join our team of Humanities Specialists. The successful candidate will be required to teach at Key Stages 3 and 4.  

Humanities is a growing department with uptake at GCSE increasing year on year making Humanities subjects the most popular option choices at GCSE.  

Humanities is a flourishing department at Blessed Trinity and has a central role within the school.  A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered and organised by the department.

The department also provides after school revision sessions, coursework drop-in days and revision days in school holidays.  We are looking for a determined and enthusiastic Teacher who can: 

• engage and enthuse our learners through a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning; 

• contribute to the further development of a strong and forward looking team; 

• be innovative in their techniques to motivate and inspire young people; 

• build positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike.  

Both NQTs and experienced Teachers are encouraged to apply, we offer an excellent NQT Induction programme as well as exceptional professional development opportunities.   A willingness to support the ethos of the school is essential.  There are many opportunities for professional development through contributing to extra-curricular activities and whole school initiatives.

Blessed Trinity RC College is a mixed, non-selective Roman Catholic secondary school, situated in Burnley, Lancashire. There are approximately 1,250 students at the college aged between 11-16.

The school encourages talents and new interests after class with a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award and dance lessons. Pupils are able to explore their Christian faith with optional Chapel drop ins during lunch.
