South Hampstead High School is seeking to appoint a dynamic, energetic and inspirational Mathematics Teacher to join a vigorous and strong department.  

You will teach Mathematics to highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to 13, employing a variety of teaching methods in order to encourage the girls to find success, enjoyment and satisfaction in their studies.   

A qualified teacher, with a proven track record is desired, however, applications would also be welcome from NQTs and those looking to begin a career in teaching.

Mathematics at South Hampstead High School

The Mathematics Department consists of a mixture of full-time and part-time members of staff, some of whom have other responsibilities in the school.  In a school of this academic calibre it is a pleasure to stimulate and inspire the students’ bright and alert minds.  

All girls in Years 7 to 11 take part in the Junior or Intermediate Mathematical challenges whilst all A level students sit the Senior Mathematical Challenge.  We also enter a team each year in the Team Maths Challenge, Year 10 Maths Feast and the Senior Team Maths Challenge.  The department organises a very popular Maths Help clinic each week and trips to relevant lectures are arranged. Laptops and iPads are provided and used by all members of the Department.
