Teacher of Science

The City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College is a thriving, lively and successful Sixth Form College, committed to social inclusion.  The College is located in an award-winning, state of the art building at the heart of the University Quarter in Stoke on Trent, adjacent to Stoke Railway Station, which provides excellent travel links.  All STEM students are taught in the University Science Centre which provides access to university standard facilities.  In September 2017, the College achieved academy status as part of the Potteries Educational Trust.  The Trust is working collaboratively with educational institutions from across Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, seeking to improve outcomes for all children and young people in the region.  In October 2017, Ofsted Inspectors graded the College ‘Good’ with several excellent features and praised staff and students for creating a supportive learning community.  Inspectors were impressed with the relentless focus on improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, leading to our learners making good or excellent progress.  The College’s mission is ‘A caring community, delivering excellence and inspiring futures.’  

Teacher of Science 

(Permanent / Full Time)

This is a full time position to start in September 2019, however part time applications will also be considered. Please state your preference and preferred time commitment on your application.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and successful teacher of Science who may be required to teach GCSE Trilogy Combined Science and Level 3 BTEC Applied Science. The ability to teach more than one area of science at Level 3 would be advantageous. The Science team is enthusiastic and flexible and there is a strong commitment to continuous improvement and supporting learning. The faculty has established good relationships with partner institutions including local universities, FE Colleges and feeder schools.

The teaching post would be suitable for an NQT or experienced teacher.

Salary for the teaching post will be paid according to the Sixth Form College’s Salary Spine for Teachers (£23,396 - £38,748 per annum)
