The position
St. Lawrence College, Athens, Greece is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of Spanish and French to be part of the Modern Languages department in the school.
Brief Job description
The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of Spanish and French to pupils in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, including up to IGCSE. He or she will work closely with the current Head of Department in all areas of the planning and delivery of these languages, including strengthening the schemes of work, creating and sourcing teaching aids, developing and implementing assessment tasks, promoting knowledge and love of the culture of countries where these languages are spoken.
St. Lawrence College places great importance on the excellence of the delivery of pastoral care and on the provision of extracurricular activities for all pupils. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to these vital spheres of British education fully and with enthusiasm.
Brief person specification
In addition to appropriate teaching qualifications and, preferably, experience teaching Spanish and French in a British school either in the UK or overseas, the successful applicant will possess outstanding subject knowledge, excellent communication skills and the stamina to realise the continual improvement of the teaching of this highly popular subject.
The successful applicant will be available to work from 1st September 2018.
Remuneration
Our new teacher of Spanish and French will receive a competitive salary by standards of British education in Greece plus Christmas, Easter and summer bonuses and other benefits. The successful applicant will work alongside friendly and supportive colleagues across our 20-acre school campus set in the stunning natural surroundings of the suburbs in southern Athens.
