About the role:  Dartford Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage1/ 2 pupils from September 2018 to July 2019 in the first instance.  The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with children, preferably in a Key Stage 1/2 environment.  We are also looking for the successful applicant to have a proven high standard of both spoken and written English and Mathematics.  Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner.  It is also essential that the successful candidate is able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills.  

Please note: This role is ideal for Graduates who are looking to embark on Teacher Training commencing September 2019.  This role will provide you with first hand exposure to working in a school setting.  If this is of interest to you, please include this in your supporting statement so that a member of the Talent Team can discuss it with you in more detail.

What are we looking for in you?  The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to demonstrate successful, sustained experience of working collaboratively with parents/carers, teaching/non-teaching staff and outside agencies. They must be able to work equally as well as part of a team or independently.

Working at the Academy:  Dartford Primary Academy is a three form entry primary school in Dartford, catering for children between the ages of three and eleven. We have an outstanding Nursery with spaces for 48 children from the age of three on our St Albans Road site and a special needs provision our York Road site for children who have statements or EHC plans with ASD or speech and language needs.

Dartford Primary Academy is from the recent collaboration of St Albans Road Infant and Nursery School and York Road Junior Academy and as such has a newly formed, collaborative and effective leadership team who are supportive of all staff and committed to their on-going career development.  Joining together the two schools has enabled us to offer a smooth transition for our children from the age of three to eleven and provided staff with enhanced opportunities to work across Key Stages, share good practice and draw on the experience/expertise found in a large staff.
