French Film Review Sheet

French Film Review Sheet

A great sheet to use in the last week of term to give the pupils something focused to do when you pop on a French film. For those who aren’t entirely engrossed they can answer the questions, add some doodles and decorate or colour the sheet. It gives a really educational focus to the film lesson (regardless of whether or not it is a TL film. If you are using it as part of your media module there are general questions about film and cinema and specific film review questions. They are all accessible and if you would like to add more complex/advanced questions there is a blank template for you to simply add a text boxes with more age/stage appropriate questions. The feedback I have had on these sheets has been great- I am producing a series of them so please get in touch if there is a topic you would like to see in September. Don’t forget you have an easy way of receiving any free resource of your choice- simply leave feedback on any resource you have purchased and then contact me to let me know at betsybelleteachesfrench@hotmail.com

Mon Ordi et mon portable Studio 1 Module 3

Mon Ordi et mon portable Studio 1 Module 3

These cue cards are a speaking resource to support the study of Studio 1 Module 3 unit 1, Mon Ordi et Mon Portable. They combine technology activities with frequencies. To play clones, make 2 or 3 sets and distribute - students interact asking and answering questions until they find their clone. Page 1 is one set of 9, page 2 is a second set of 9, each one differing in one or two details so students need to interact as much as possible to find their clone- I have found it works best if they ask questions in random order. For a smaller class or group, just one set of page 1 cards can be used as a simple speaking activity asking and answering questions. great for developing confidence and speaking skills. Please dont forget to leave a comment below, thank you :)

French speaking players at the World Cup

French speaking players at the World Cup

Every major tournament, I print out and laminate pictures of the most well-known French speaking footballers. I put these up around school and the children love trying to work out the meanings of the words. I’ve also added some slides at the end that you could use in class to discuss vocabulary and for the children to write their own profile. Please let me know if there are any errors. I learnt today that you say “Je viens de France” rather than “Je viens de la France,” which is what I’ve always used in the past. Enjoy and Allez les bleus!!!

World Cup 2018 French authentic reading resource / quiz

World Cup 2018 French authentic reading resource / quiz

I have compiled ‘Fact files’ in French on 6 Francophone players (1 from each Francophone country in the World Cup.) I have also written a huge quiz based on these fact files, plus a list of the teams and the timetable of the knock out rounds. The documents should be copied and given out to students in groups of 3/4 and they can use the information to answer the questions. Most questions are in English, with 8 in French at the end. 80 marks in total! Should keep students quiet for an hour Students could then create their own fact file on players of their choice similar to these. All information is authentic - from yahoo.fr / French Wikipedia / L’Equipe online. All documents are in Word so can be edited. Answers included. Suitable for KS3 / KS4 French Please provide feedback. I’m charging a small fee as several hours of work went into these resources.

(but just to make sure, it was Journey with Don’t stop believing) Another fun, musical activity for your older or gifted and talented pupils to get their teeth stuck in. There are 20 famous song lyrics to translate, decipher and recognise. It’s always been a hit with my classes, and I hope your students will love it too. (Answers included on the second page)
