Budgies Animals Wordsearch Birds Nature Wildlife Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Budgies Animals Wordsearch Birds Nature Wildlife Starter Settler Activity Homework Cover Lesson

Wordsearch on the theme of 'Budgies'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!

COWSPIRACY - The Sustainability Secret

COWSPIRACY - The Sustainability Secret

This video guide goes along with the condensed version of Cowspiracy. This shorter version is only 15 minutes long and includes all the major highlights. It is much better in a classroom setting. The video makes light of the ever increasing amount of greenhouse gases, the affects on climate change and the almost unknown major cause of environmental destruction, animal agriculture. The video guide is 3 pages long in PDF format. It includes previewing, during viewing and post viewing questions for students and directions. The video link is hyperlinked in the main heading for quick access. This lesson would take about 45 minutes if you view the video only once and 1 hour if you show it twice, which is what I like to do. "Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rain forest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged."
