French lesson and resources - KS2 - Places around school

This is a plan and resources for a French lesson to use with KS2. It involves children learning the vocabulary for different rooms around school. The plan could be used for an individual lesson, or as part of a longer schools unit. The plan gives details of a starter, how to teach the vocabulary, a whole class listening game, a speaking and listening game, a writing activity and a plenary. It is highly interactive and allows children to practise a range of language skills. Resources needed for the lesson are included in the price. This resource includes two texts that focus on two different aspects pf school life. 'L'avenir' , as the title suggests, focuses on future plans and ambitions of four students and is in the format of an interview. It is followed by a series of exercises that cover all the language skills and is recommended for students doing the IBDP's Language B. The second text 'Amelie parle de son ecole...' is a text that focuses more on a description of school, subjects and teachers, as the title suggests. The text is followed by a series of multi-task exercises and is recommended for students doing the GCSEs as well as the IBDP's Language ab initio.

This resource consists of an assessment which focuses on telling time and vocabulary as well as a grammar worksheet. The assessment includes an MCQ, a gap-fill exercise and one that requires reorganizing a passage. The grammar worksheet focuses essentially on the tenses-present, passe compose, imparfait & futur proche-as well as the adverbials of time. The context is 'la vie scolaire'. It is ideal for revision and is intended for students who have completed the topic 'la vie scolaire', as well as the various tenses but in particular, the ones mentioned above.

Two practice writing papers (one foundation, one higher) following the format of the new GCSE writing exam, and focusing on the topics covered in Theme 3 (Current and future study and employment). The foundation paper includes four questions (describe the photo, 40 words question, translation and 90 words question) and the higher paper includes three (90 words question, 150 words question and translation). I have also included two feedback sheets (one foundation, one higher) that include"check-lists" (based on the AQA mark scheme for writing) to provide quick, personalised feedback for each of the questions.
