25 Single Balancing Challenges E-book and Task Cards

25 Single Balancing Challenges E-book and Task Cards

Included in this download is a 30 page E-book with 25 different single balances that you can have students try. Also, you will receive a PDF and JPEG version of a poster with all 25 Single Balances on it to display on your wall, projector, TV or smartboard. It also includes tips for success and common refinements to use during the activity. Note: This book is also available as a bundle with my 4 Week Gymnastics Unit Plan (in my TES Store) How I use this resource: Show students the balances starting with the easiest and moving up to the more advanced balances - Either by printing this guide or projecting it on a TV or screen. Play music and allow students to try to hold the balance for a specific amount of time or longer As students are trying the balances, play some music and walk around and offer feedback. Stop the class every few minutes or so and talk about group refinements and have an exemplar student give an example of their balance and discuss why it looks so good. Note: Balances are all color coded for level of difficulty, Green (easy) Yellow (medium) and Red (hard) Have Fun and Teach On! Parent Letter for PE Class - Forgot My Shoes, Got Injured, Time Out Form

Parent Letter for PE Class - Forgot My Shoes, Got Injured, Time Out Form

This is a great system that I created in order to cut down on the time I spent dealing with students who were unable to participate and it allows the teacher to focus more time on teaching. It also increases parent communication and gives students some accountability. I have created a full page worksheet and a half page worksheet for those that want to save paper. The best way to implement this management system is to have multiple forms already on clipboards hanging on the wall and explain the procedure to students. This way when students come in with inappropriate shoes or are injured they know to go directly to the wall and fill out a form. We also use this same form for time outs, injuries or any situation when the student can't participate. This decreases distraction for the teacher and streamlines the beginning of the lesson, which can sometimes become delayed when students immediately come up to you with excuses about being unprepared for class. I hope it works for you as well as it has for us! Thanks. Have Fun and Teach On! Ben Blogger, resource creator and community builder at ThePEspecialist.com
