Applications are invited for a Clinical Psychologist/ School Psychologist role at an elite, Independent school, located on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. This leading Independent school that caters for Kindergarten to Year 12. Students enjoy extensive curricular and co-curricular educational programs, advanced learning technology, outstanding facilities and extensive choices in the performing/visual arts, sporting and cultural arena. A strong academic record and focus on each student as an individual creates a caring, safe, stimulating environment that inspires a balanced educational experience.


About the Role:

• Full-time or Part time load (flexible)

• Temporary, 12-month contract covering maternity leave

• Commencing May 2021

• Be part of a community of seven counsellors who support all students from Kindergarten to Year 12

• Provide ongoing psychological intervention, support and education to enhance the social, emotional and educational needs of students, as well as providing information and consultation to support families and staff of the school

• Counselling sessions with individual students

• Liaison with parents or external agencies

• Collaboration with pastoral care leaders to offer consultation and support into the wellbeing of cohorts of students

• Opportunities to participate in service improvement projects


Selection Criteria:

• Applicants will have experience in providing psychological intervention for children, adolescents and their families within a systemic therapeutic paradigm

• Applicants must have current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration

• Membership with professional bodies such as the Australian Psychological Society or other bodies is desirable

• Be registered or have the ability to hold NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• Provide a minimum of three professional references

• Have the right to work in Australia
