Job overview

Fairfield High School is looking for an inspiring and creative teacher with excellent subject knowledge and an enthusiasm for computer science and the ever-changing landscape of technology. We wish to appoint someone who will foster a culture of problem-solving, resilience and intellectual curiosity around the subject and has the drive and determination to grow the subject within the school. 

This is a full-time post and you will be expected to teach a second subject - Science or Mathematics is highly desirable.  There is a potential allowance for the right candidate.

Computer Science is taught across both KS3 and KS4, with all students getting access to a range of different projects in KS3 which aim to broaden their knowledge of a range of programming languages. Students gain experience in Python, Scratch, HTML and JavaScript, and we are looking to develop more opportunities for the students to develop their digital literacy and programming skills as the subject develops. There is a very positive uptake in KS4.

You will:

·        Be a strong and committed teacher with a proven track record of progress at KS3 and KS4

·        Have previous experience in raising student attainment and implementing effective     

          intervention

·        Have excelled interpersonal and communication skills

·        Be aware of the new changes in the curriculum, and have ideas of how to implement this
