We are seeking to appoint a pioneering and experienced leader to take on the role of Deputy Headteacher, responsible for inclusion. This unique opportunity will be suitable for an experienced SENDCo, who is looking to further develop their leadership skills.

Rutherford House School is committed to ensuring all children develop a lifelong love of learning and leave us embodying our School and Trust values. As the Deputy Headteacher responsible for inclusion, you will assist class teachers and learning support assistants to ensure any barriers to children reaching their potential are removed. This will include pupils who have a SEND need, EAL barrier, attendance concern or those who are PPG.

You will have the opportunity to develop and lead a dedicated and talented support staff team, who are reflective and passionate about doing the best for all pupils. This includes our ELSA lead, learning mentor and EAL coordinator.

We are currently relaunching and developing our behaviour system, to ensure we are up to date with current research and initiatives that motivate and challenge our pupils. This role will allow you to take a lead upon this and shape our new behaviour policy.

If you are motivated to make a difference, we would love for you to join our senior leadership team.

What do we offer you?

• A competitive salary

• Children who are happy, exceptionally well behaved and have a desire to learn. Our children are confident, articulate and future leaders.

• The opportunity to lead within a school whose curriculum develops awe and wonder, curiosity, and a depth of knowledge in all subjects.

• A focus on a work-life balance and staff well-being

• Excellent peer support and social opportunities from our outstanding, passionate team and across our 9 Trust schools.

• A focus on the professional development of all staff, with access to NPQs and leadership opportunities across the Trust

Tours of the School are strongly advised and can be booked via the Office Manager, Ms Smith. Tours will be held on Wednesday 8th June (2pm) and Tuesday 14th June (9am), where you will have the opportunity to meet with Mrs Mallett (Headteacher).

If you want to help all children learn, enjoy and succeed and have the ambition and enthusiasm to work in partnership with us, we would love to hear from you.

Application forms and further detail can be found on our website, under the vacancy tab or downloaded below. Only applications submitted on the school’s application form will be considered. You will also be required to complete the mentoring form attached.

Please contact the Ms Smith (Office Manager) if you have any questions or require further details about the post on either 0208672 5901 or angela.smith@rutherfordhouseschool.co.uk
