A rare opportunity has arisen for an Early Years/Key Stage 1 teacher to join the Reception Class team at Kellett from January 2023 due to maternity leave and internal re-alignment. 

The Early Years/Key Stage 1 Teacher will support the Kellett Learner Profile and there will be an emphasis on developing independence, responsibility, creativity, and confidence.

The Class Teacher will work with the EY/KS1 team to create a provision that supports children’s development as active, engaged learners in an inspiring, creative and language rich environment. Through exceptional teaching, guidance and support, children will feel happy and secure and make strong progress in all areas of the curriculum. The Class Teacher will work to ensure excellent learning outcomes for all students, while also demonstrating excellence as a class teacher.

The Class Teacher will contribute to whole-school self-evaluation and school improvement planning. They will also have a significant responsibility for formative and summative assessment.  

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Early Years or Key Stage One specialism
  • Qualified teacher status
  • Evidence of professional development relevant to this role.
  • Experience of outstanding teaching in EYFS and KS1
  • Excellent working knowledge of both the EYFS curriculum and Key Stage 1 to ensure all students reach their potential and all staff are well supported.
  • Recent UK experience and knowledge of UK independent sector schools is desirable but not essential.
  • Applicants will have strong IT skills and a proven ability to use technology to support learning.


The successful applicant will need to be committed to the mission, values and aims of Kellett School.   An attractive and competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.  Kellett School has its own salary scale; HK$40,000 – HK$78,000 per month less Mandatory Provident Fund contributions (MPF, currently HK$1,500, per month). Additional responsibility allowances payable where applicable

Kellett is a through-train school from Reception to Year 13 with two preparatory campuses and one senior campus. Student roll currently 1345; Senior 617; KLB Prep 318; PFL Prep 410

Kellett is a through train school with campuses in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon Bay. The Pok Fu Lam campus is a Preparatory School (for ages 4-11 years old) in Wah Fu at the foot of Mount Kellett and overlooking Kellett Bay, while the Kowloon Bay campus houses a Preparatory and Senior School for students from 4 -18 years old.
