   Are you passionate about education, team oriented  and ready to inspire?  If so, we might be the school for you.   We are a growing Montessori international bilingual nursery, primary and middle school located in the beautiful city of Lecce in the heart of Salento, Puglia, South Italy.  

Our school is looking to  appoint an innovative English department coordinator able to lead and shape, to motivate and inspire, our team. As coordinator you will play a vital role in leading and driving our highly dedicated, professional teaching team and be responsible for the successful  delivery of the Cambridge International Curriculum for Primary and Lower secondary school  including English, science, ICT, global perspectives drama, music and  art.  As coordinator  of the English department you will become an integral part of the wider management team, whose role it is to oversee the provision of quality education to our pupils.  Oxford pupils study a variety of subjects in Italian and English, as well as  studying Spanish as a second language.

The English department coordinator

is in possession of a university degree and/or an appropriate teaching qualification. 

is English speaking with a working knowledge of Italian. 

has  experience teaching in a variety of settings.

has 2 years experience in a leadership role in education.

has experience carrying out  staff appraisal and lesson observations to positively impact teaching practice and policy.

can develop and deliver effective professional development.

is committed to developing the reading programme and English activities within the English department.

has proficient computer skills.

Ideally,

has experience of teaching and coordinating the Cambridge International Primary and Lower  secondary curriculum.

has experience of Cambridge English ESOL examinations.

has experience working in an international setting. 

has experience of teaching ESOL.

has excellent communication skills and is enable to build relationships with management parents, staff and learners.

believes in the communicative approach to language learning.

has excellent organisational and administrative skills including recruitment.  

will themselves be a  learner, seeking to build on and develop their knowledge and skills while supporting the team  to become independent and reflective teachers. 

 is an EU passport holder or are already  in possession of a valid visa that enables them to work in Italy.
