Dallington School, a beautiful family school in the heart of Madrid

We are a young, modern family school situated in a very  attractive residential area near the centre of Madrid. While we shall be growing significantly each year, we are committed to maintaining this friendly, caring approach in both sites: Th EYFS Site (in Ronda de Sobradiel 20), and very close to it, our new Primary and Secondary Site (in Calle Castillo de Aysa 8).

Dallington School will eventually cater for pupils from 2 to 18 years old.  In this academic year the School has over 500 pupils from Pre-Nursery to Key Stage 4. Every year we shall grow with our older students, until we complete the IGCSEs in the academic year 24-25. We are an official accredited Cambridge University Centre and we will soon start the accreditation process for the IB Diploma for Year 12 and Year 13.

At Dallington School we want our teaching to be based on a creative approach to the curriculum, and varied methodology. Our priority is to develop the self-confidence and full potential of each pupil. Most schools say the same, but we really want to put it into practice.

If Dallington School is going to be a highly successful school, we need skilled and committed teachers who want to stay with us and develop professionally, assuming new responsibilities and leadership positions.

Dallington School’s fundamental aim is to provide a broad and challenging curriculum in an educational context where all pupils are happy, have strong values, are knowledgeable, skillful, and creative. The School itself offers a warm, friendly environment, where pupils feel at home and can enjoy their learning. The staff team is characterised by its deep commitment to education and fundamental human values. The team is determined to support and facilitate the pupils’ progress as effectively as possible and to maintain this ambience of care, mutual respect and confidence.

At Dallington, we really see each child as an individual. Each pupil has a specific range of intelligences and abilities, interests, and ways of learning. Our approach to education gets the best out of everyone and strongly supports pupils’ overall personal and academic development, for example their self- confidence, effort, communication and thinking skills, teamwork, and  social and global awareness.

To this end, we have a very favourable pupil-teacher ratio, fully qualified British teachers, qualified support staff, a rigorous system of quality control and self- review, and a programme of continuous professional development, focusing on innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning.

Dallington School is firmly committed to education in values. We help our pupils learn the importance of the family, loving relationships and friendships, respect and care for others, generosity, hard work and commitment and responsibility. Spiritual education is another important feature of Dallington School. Both within our innovative Personal, Social, Health, and Emotional Education programme and our optional Catholic Education programme.

In relation to health education, we strongly believe that children will only adopt a healthy lifestyle if they live that way from a very young age, and are given the appropriate guidance and support. For that reason, our school menus exclusively make use of ecological products and we place significant emphasis on physical education. Apart from our own play and sports facilities, we also have access to nearby sports Centres and clubs.

What our teachers say about us

Working at Dallington has been a fantastic experience from day one. My interests have been considered in every step of the way and I have been given the opportunity to grow professionally doing what I enjoy and what I am good at. They’ve had my back both professionally and personally when I’ve needed it, showing me that when they say we’re a family, they mean it. I feel valued, respected, protected and cared for, which makes a huge difference in any work environment. I love the fact that you can actually feel that everyone at Dallington is always willing to improve and to do things at the best of their abilities.-Miss Ana Behnke , Year 8 Tutor-

I have very much enjoyed my time teaching at Dallington School. From the first day, I found it a warm and welcoming place to work, with a family ethos and friendly atmosphere. It has also proved to be a good place to advance my teaching career, as the school provides opportunities for professional development and additional responsibilities. This is my third year at the school, and I still look forward to going to work in the mornings! – Mr. Mark Alland (Year 3 teacher)

This is my second of I hope many more years at Dallington school. We are a fairly small group of teachers, and one soon feels like at home. Both senior and junior staff is friendly and helpful, making the environment great for teachers and students alike. It is lovely to work in a place where children are so happy! -Miss Ana Viana, Year 2 Teacher-

Working at Dallington School is a great way to grow both professionally and personally. We have a great team spirit and support each other when needed. As a growing school, Dallington provides the opportunity for professionals to explore both their academic and creative sides. The school has a real family feel and they make both the teacher and their family feel very much at home.- Mrs. Melissa Field, Reception Teacher and EYFS Head Teacher-

Dallington School is a small progressive school with big ambitions. It is an ideal school for teachers who enjoy a challenge, promoting a creative environment and instilling the school's core values: generosity, solidarity and global social awareness. Dallington School has a positive atmosphere with a supportive network in place. As someone who has moved to Madrid with a young family, I can only note how helpful everyone was to me while I was settling in, especially as it was a new city for me and I had little to no understanding of Spanish. Madrid is such a vibrant city! - Mr. Peter Hay, Year 6 Teacher and Head of Primary and Secondary-
