The Job:

Burnley High School have an exciting opportunity for passionate and dedicated Geography teacher to join the school on a full-time and permanent basis.


What does this job do?

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils as a teacher/form tutor.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • To contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment.
  • To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.


What are the job requirements?

  • Qualified Teacher status (or studying towards QTS)
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent, in related subject
  • Excellent professional knowledge and understanding of national and examination curricular requirements of the business and IT
  • Excellent knowledge of computing, and information technology with the ability to plan lessons with clear objectives to ensure progression for all students
  • Established as an effective teacher across the age and ability range
  • A clear passion for business, computing and information technology
  • Constantly striving to improve
  • Willingness to contribute to the life and work of the school, including extra-curricular activities
