We are delighted to be making an appointment for the position of Head of Design Technology - with a product design/workshop specialism for our high-achieving outstanding 11-18 academy in North Yorkshire. Outwood Academy Easingwold has the highest performing Post 16 centre in North Yorkshire and GCSE results are the highest for non-selective schools, an achievement we are incredibly proud of.

The Technology Department encompasses Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design and Food Technology offering both GCSE and A levels in the subject areas. You should possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference and have a firm love of your subject and a desire to support our young people to reach their full potential.

We are an “Outstanding” 11-18 academy, based in the market town of Easingwold in North Yorkshire, near Yorkand was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in its report published in September 2022.

Part of the Outwood Family since 2018, we are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on ensuring everyone has the right to learn, with a curriculum designed to stretch and enrich our students’ experience. We champion routes into higher education providing a vibrant, supportive and largely academic sixth form.

Playing an active role in our local community is important to us and we regularly work with community members of a range of projects. Our sports hall and 3G sports pitch is also available for hire, giving the local community access to state of the art sporting facilities.

We have won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

Our success led to us appearing in the Sunday Times School Guide 2020, where we ranked as the 14th best school in the North and the 235th best school overall in the country.
