The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Head of Learning to join this Catholic 11 – 18 comprehensive school judged “Good” by Ofsted in May 2017 and “Outstanding” by the Archdiocese of Southwark in 2019. This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious senior leader who is ready to take the next step in their career

It is an exciting time to join St John Bosco College as we continue our journey towards being an outstanding school, now that we are fully settled into our state-of-the-art building in the heart of Battersea.  Our success can be credited to our committed and dedicated staff who strive for excellence and promote high aspirations throughout the school.  The successful candidate will receive a full programme of CPD and have opportunities for career development within the school.

We require an exceptional individual to take a leading role in the ongoing strategic development of St John Bosco College.  The successful candidate will be able to inspire pupils, staff, parents and other stakeholders to work together to ensure the school’s continued success.  The postholder will need to be able to work collaboratively with senior and middle leaders and have a systematic approach to school improvement. They will have responsibility for one or more key areas of school life at the direction of the Headteacher.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a clear understanding of the school’s Catholic, Salesian ethos and be committed to upholding this within the school 

• Have an up-to-date knowledge of curriculum design and Ofsted criteria regarding Quality of Education

• Have existing experience in line managing departments and a track record of implementing improvements in curriculum, assessment and pedagogy

• Be able to lead continuous systematic improvement across all areas of school life to ensure that children at St John Bosco College are happy, safe and achieve to the best of their ability

St John Bosco College is located in the heart of Battersea a short distance from Clapham Junction and Battersea Bridge.  We are an 'outstanding' Catholic School (Section 48 inspection June 2019) rated were 'good' by Ofsted in our most recent inspection (October 2022).
