St. George’s Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint a Headteacher to start in September 2023. The position has become available due to the retirement of the previous post holder. The successful candidate will be joining a flourishing school that achieved Outstanding in its 2022 OFSTED report.

You will be joining St George’s at an exciting time, with the ability to further build on recent success. The school boasts an experienced and passionate leadership team, and is supported by the central team of the Aquinas CE Education Trust.

We welcome applications from experienced Headteachers as well as those looking for their first Headship.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience, or a demonstrable interest in working as a Headteacher;
  • Have an extensive education background;
  • Be a good communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Have practical experience of school improvement and strategy;
  • Have experience of undertaking a range of leadership and strategic duties;
  • Aspire to lead on delivering an outstanding learning environment;
  • Have an advanced level of IT skills;
  •  Know how to build relationships and to lead and work as part of a team;
  • Come with a friendly, helpful, caring and flexible approach;
  • Possess a commitment to equal opportunities;
  • Have an ability to maintain confidentiality in all school matters;
  • Understand the commitment required to succeed in such a critical role.
