We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and proactive Learning Resource Manager who has school or youth library based skills to join our very busy and vibrant Learning Resource Centre (LRC). You would play a key role in maintaining our high standards, developing literacy and promoting a love of reading. We are looking for ambitious individuals who understand their importance in enhancing student learning outside of the classroom and the need to encourage progression and aspiration at all key stages.
We have two study centres located across campuses at both Thorpe-le-Soken and
Frinton-on-Sea which sit at the heart of the school’s teaching and learning ethos. The school is very proud of the Learning Resource Centre, it is a great resource and all students benefit from the facilities that are on offer.
The right candidate will have previous proven skills and abilities of working in libraries as well being up to date with new technologies. It is essential that you have excellent communication and IT skills, are well organised and have the ability to stay composed under pressure in a busy working environment. The role will involve developing the LRC as an information hub across both of our campuses, promoting a passion for reading and literacy across the College, and providing support for students after college.

Tendring Technology College is a large split site comprehensive school for students aged 11-18, located in the pleasant village of Thorpe-le-Soken and the historic town of Frinton-on-Sea. The mix of this rural and coastal location is a lovely backdrop for our young people and at the same time there is easy access to Colchester, the oldest recorded town in the country, and the capital itself, London.
Thorpe Campus is situated in the village of Thorpe-le-Soken. It serves students aged 11-14. Our Frinton Campus serves the needs of students aged 14-19. We take children from a large area surrounding the College. This includes Thorpe-le-Soken, Kirby-le-Soken, Kirby Cross, Great Holland, Little Clacton, Weeley, Tendring, Little Bentley, Wix, Beaumont, Great Oakley, Frinton-on-Sea, Walton-on-the-Naze as well as a number of students who travel from much further afield including Harwich, Alresford and Colchester.
Tendring Technology College is an academy and it converted in August 2011. The school was judged to be ‘inadequate’ following an Ofsted inspection in November. The outcome was ‘serious weaknesses’ rather than ‘special measures’ in recognition of the fact that the trust and school leaders were taking the right actions to improve the school and had effective capacity to do so.
