Position: Teaching Assistant


Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week 


Salary: £16,725 - £18 000 (dependant on experience and qualifications) 


Contract: 39 week, permanent 


Location: Wessex Lodge School Frome Somerset 


Do you love helping children? The outdoors? Animals? Do you want to have the autonomy to share your ideas to create fun, exciting and engaging lessons for Autistic children? The Greater Horseshoe School is looking for innovative thinkers who can help keep our students engaged and excited about learning. 


This isn’t like your everyday mainstream teaching assistant role! We are looking for creative, active and open-minded Teaching Assistants, to join our family feel team. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and behaviours. We are looking for candidates, who want to get involved, have their ideas heard, aren’t afraid of getting dirty on the farm or in workshops and who are resilient, active and caring. Previous experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) isn’t essential but it is preferred. If you have no experience, please research Autism and the challenges it presents. 


The established staff team come from a variety of previous occupations and have individual skills, which can be utilised, within this school. So, if you have an interest and/or qualifications in animal care, horticulture, construction, outdoor education, forestry or any other specific trade or hobby, we would love to hear from you!
