Physical Education Teacher (female) - Maternity Cover

Repton Al Barsha is seeking a female Physical Education Teacher for maternity cover April to June 2023. There is also a permanent position available from August 2023.

The PE Department is a highly motivated and skilled team, which takes pride in its supportive and engaging approach to teaching. The successful candidate will join a hardworking, driven and experienced team of dedicated teachers, all working towards the same goal of creating fun and enriching experiences for students to develop a love of PE and sport that lasts a lifetime.

The successful candidate must have the ability to teach Physical Education from FS1 to KS4 and have strong knowledge within a variety of sports. They will be enthusiastic, energetic with the ability to inspire pupils to achieve the highest possible standards.

Due to the nature of the role and cultural sensitivities, only female candidates can be considered.

Job Title: Teacher of Physical Education 

Responsible to: Director of Sport and the Senior Leadership Team

Job Requirements  

• To contribute to the effective teaching of PE, Swimming and Games throughout the school from FS1 to KS4. 
• Organise and teach sports teams within the school 
• Assist in the organisation of fixtures, House events and whole school events. 
• Keep all paperwork, administration and fixtures information up to date. 
• To make an appropriate contribution to the school’s programme of extra-curricular activities with particular responsibility for netball, football and rounders; including all sports fixtures throughout the year. 
• To support the ethos of the school by setting and maintaining high standards. 
• To consistently pursue outstanding teaching and learning to allow the pupils to reach their full potential. 
• To carry out other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the Director of Sport, the Headmistress or other appropriate senior member of staff.

Successful candidates will: 

• Hold Bachelors of Education or PGCE with appropriate specialism, OR     
• Hold Bachelors in subject relevant to teaching specialism plus PGCE in Secondary Education     
• Have experience teaching in a UK setting or renowned British Curriculum / international school     
• Have appropriate experience which enables them to contribute to our school enrichment program
