Principal

Hull Trinity House Academy are looking to recruit a Principal to start in April 2023, if possible, on a full-time permanent basis.

As Principal at Hull Trinity House Academy, part of Delta Academies Trust, you will ensure that the Trust’s strategic vision is implemented within the school community whilst maintaining the history and traditions of this unique maritime Academy.

You will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Academy and the wider educational community by ensuring the provision of high quality teaching and learning; high standards and high expectations of students, staff and the community; developing, delivering and commissioning innovative proactive and service for students; developing collaborative links with other academies, schools and the wider education community; and developing a world class workforce to provide the best possible educational opportunity to students.

Working alongside the Executive Leadership Team and Specialist Subject Directors, you will ensure an outstanding educational provision for all students focusing on the maritime, nautical, and engineering sectors.

You will share the Trust’s vision for improving educational outcomes in the North and will bring about transformational change within the communities that we serve.

As the most senior leader within the Academy, you will work with your Senior Leadership Team to ensure consistent application of effective Trust systems and processes. You will use experience and innovation to drive forward school improvement to ensure that no child is left behind.

This role will suit an existing Principal or aspiring Vice Principal who wants to make a significant difference to children’s lives by shaping their educational experience. You will be inspiring and engaging, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. We would welcome applications from educators with a background in maritime, uniformed services or engineering sectors, however this is not essential.

Hull Trinity House Academy is a secondary school for boys located in Kingston upon Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. As an educational institution with over 230 years of history, Hull Trinity House remains very proud of its history and traditions and our motto ‘Spes Super Sydera’ (Hope Beyond the Stars) still neatly sums up our Academy’s aims of continually raising aspirations, widening horizons, and empowering our students to achieve their potential. 

You will join the Academy at a transformational time; after 230 years as a boys’ only academy, the school welcomed girls from September 2022 and in September 2023 will open at its new site on Beverley Road, Hull.

The salary for this role is commensurate with the unique attractiveness of the role. Due to the uniqueness of this role, we would consider supporting the right candidate with a relocation package.
