Job overview

Occupying one of the most deprived areas of the West Midlands, Pool Hayes Academy is a powerful catalyst for change – a place that creates opportunities and transforms futures.

Our Ofsted rating has improved to Good – but that’s just the beginning of our ambition for the pupils and staff at Pool Hayes. Your vision, tenacity and ability to win hearts and minds will take us, and our students, to the next level. Quickly gaining the trust and support of our parents, you will do whatever it takes to realise the potential of their children and ensure that our upwards trajectory continues and accelerates.

Since the Summer of 2014, we’ve transformed our physical environment by creating new sports studios, a dance zone, a new reception and lobby area, a lecture theatre and a student reading zone - as well as expanding our library, making over our classrooms, enhancing our science labs and refurbishing our Health and Social Care and ICT suites.

We’ve also transformed the way we think and work, with valuable input from our House & Student Councils. In short, we’ve created a place where students love to learn and understand that educational attainment is key to overcoming obstacles. You will make certain that we deliver inspiring teaching from age 11 to 18 and that every student becomes the very best that they can be. Along the way, you can expect plenty of support, as we operate at the heart of Academy Transformation Trust and collaborate closely with other trust academies.

Naturally, we’re looking for an exceptional school leader with real imagination and the drive and determination to make things happen. Already a seasoned senior manager, you will be ready to take the next step in your career and capable of getting the most from every student as well as every member of our team.

In return, you can expect all the satisfaction of changing lives and removing barriers to employment, as well as an exceptional package including generous relocation assistance. You can also look forward to a rewarding career within the West Midlands, close to the cultural hub of historic Birmingham, which continues to undergo an extensive transformation.

If you would like to visit the school, appointments with Garry Trott, Director of Secondary Education, are available on 16th February, at 9:00 to 10:30, 11:30 to 13:00, or 14:00 to 15:30. To arrange your visit, please contact Garry by email: garry.trott@attrust.org.uk

If you’ve got the substance to take us to the next level, we want to hear from you. For more information and to apply, please visit our careers portal.
