Job overview

PROGRESS LEADER: MFL (Spanish /French)

FIXED TERM MATERNITY COVER

(until the return of the current postholder, likely to be January 2023)

We are seeking two maternity cover positions within the MFL department; one is for a Progress Leader and the other position is for a Teacher of MFL.  Successful candidates will be talented linguists who are passionate about languages.  The Progress Leader will ensure the delivery of an outstanding quality of learning and teaching throughout the department.  Leadership experience is not essential, but applicants must be able to demonstrate the skills required to lead a department.  The department offers both Spanish and French to A Level; therefore, the ability to teach one language to A Level and offer a second language to GCSE is advantageous.  Both positions are full time, but we may be able to offer flexible/part time working arrangements, depending on the field of applicants.

Also, depending on the actual start date of the maternity leave, successful candidates may be required to carry out some work as a cover supervisor in the short term.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection, in October 2021, we maintained our status as a ‘good’ school.  We offer a friendly, supportive working environment, which values talented, committed staff and offers excellent professional development opportunities.  We are highly committed to managing teacher workload and offer a fortnightly home-based PPA session to all teaching staff.

Hilbre High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff to share this commitment.  This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

All details are available to download from our website www.hilbre.wirral.sch.uk.  An application form and letter of application must be completed for eligibility to the post and are returnable to the Headteacher, Mr Mark Bellamy either by post or by e-mail to schooloffice@hilbre.wirral.sch.uk.  All electronic applications will be acknowledged (no agencies please).

Closing Date:   Tuesday 7th December 2021, 9am

Interview Date: Monday 13th December 2021
