This is a great opportunity to join the Humanities Department at Tomlinscote School.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher who is enthusiastic and passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential.

The religious studies department believes that high quality religious education plays a crucial role in preparing our young people for their future roles and participation in modern diverse Britain. The key stage 3 curriculum, delivered in year 7 and 8, covers ways of living, beliefs and teachings, and philosophical, social, and ethical issues from a variety of religious perspectives. Students will study Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and Sikhism in year 7 and 8. The key stage 4 curriculum, delivered in years 9, 10, and 11, follows the AQA religious studies A specification. The use of iPads are embedded into both key stage 3 and 4 and is a valued learning tool by students and teachers in the department.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver inspiring lessons, be part of creating an exceptional place of learning and help build on the excellent current standards of the department in this ‘outstanding’ school. We expect all staff to undertake a pastoral role as a form tutor. There are also opportunities to get involved in the wider life of the school through trips and extra-curricular activities. We will develop every staff member that joins our team, providing one-to-one support, coaching and mentoring and access to extensive professional development. You must hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree to be considered for this post.
