School Service Consultant (Acting)

Full time temporary appointment (18 months)

commencing Term 3 2021, servicing the North Clarence Cluster of schools.


Suitable applicants (School Leadership experience, Assistant Principal or Principal, would be a distinct advantage and / or Human Resources Management in a service related industry) are encouraged to apply working under the direction of the Assistant Director SEACS across all areas of school life including Catholic Identity and Mission and Education Services.

The consultant will primarily work with the principal and the leadership team within the schools to improve and transform learning for students. They will be required to support the Principal build the efficacy and capacity of the school leadership team; support school leadership and their staffs in the development of school Strategic and Annual plans and the methodologies underpinning their implementation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1.               Catholic Identity and Mission
2.               Strategic and Annual School planning.
3.               Team Based Practices
4.               Leadership and Change Management
5.               Collaboration with Catholic Schools Office staff and school parish.

Criteria:     

  • Demonstrated adherence to the teachings of the Catholic Church and by conduct and lifestyle, ability to give witness to the Church’s mission.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Educational Leadership or Theology to a Masters level is highly desirable.
  • Highly developed skills in oral, written and interpersonal communication, demonstrated organisation skills and the ability to manage priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion, within relevant guidelines and within teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Possession of highly developed relational skills and the ability to develop consulting relationships to manage change and undertake high level analysis, provide effective problem solving and possess advanced inquiry skills.
