FULL-TIME TEACHER (MPR / UPR + SEN 1 ALLOWANCE) 

George Hastwell School is a 2 to 19 academy special school located on Walney Island in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Our students have severe and profound learning difficulties, and many also have associated needs such as autism, communication difficulties and complex health needs. The school is part of the Queen Katherine Multi-Academy Trust. 

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, talented and highly motivated teacher to teach in our Key Stage 1/2 class.  Pupils in the class vary from the earliest stages of development to the higher P-levels. Although the post is advertised initially for this class, you will need the ability to teach across the whole school.  

The successful candidate will: 

• Be a passionate, committed and effective class teacher. 

• Have high expectations. 

• Make learning exciting, using a relevant, practical approach to promote independence. • Be well-organised, able to work well with others and lead a team of classroom staff.

Start date Monday 16th April 2018 or sooner if possible.
