This resource has been created to be completed over 3 weeks (15 sessions). It uses the text ‘No-Bot the Robot with no Bottom’ by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet with the outcome being that children innovate the story for their own robot to lose a different body part and have different problems.
The resource pack includes planning through the PowerPoint with all 15 sessions, notes are included on slides to support teaching and outcome. There is a focus on speech and using inverted commas, different sentence forms, as well as an introduction to the story mountain structure. There are detailed resources for each session where needed, vocabulary support through widgits, story map, innovated story map, box up plan & pictures for sequencing activities. There is an inclusion of mixed VIPERS questions to support the prediction of the story.
This resource has predominantly been used for Year 2 children, however, it is also a great text to start LKS2. Children are also given the time to orally retell and perform their innovated story.
