Cartaí Gaeilge - Irish Language Cards

Cartaí Gaeilge - Irish Language Cards

This resource can used to help encourage students to use classroom language as Gaeilge. It consists of two sides and when printed back to front and laminated these cards can be placed in students lanyards or in their pencils cases and taken out in lessons to encourage target language usage. They have made a huge difference for my students and during an Irish Inspection last year, they were praised by the inspector.

Ceisteanna Poem - Irish Language Questions Poem

I did this poem in Primary School to help me remember the Irish language question words. I still teach it today! It's fantastic way to teach what is usually expected to be just rote learned off. Also I generally find with lower level abilities they struggle to remember the question words and this always helps.

An Nollag - Display & Activity

An Nollag - Display & Activity

This resource contains all the necessary displays for your Irish classroom this Christmas. I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Christmas vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Irish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. Once the lesson is finished they can go onto a display board. I've attached the .pdf for easy printing.
