Book recommendation bookmarks

A fun way to get children to write book reviews - I got them to write a review, then leave it in the book as a book mark so the next reader could look for books with the book marks in and it could help them decide whether to choose that book. Good extension activity for a quiet reading session.

Pack a Suitcase for Paddington EYFS reception / kindergarten

Pack a Suitcase for Paddington EYFS reception / kindergarten

Inspired by a similar activity on twinkl I decided to tailor this suitcase packing activity to our London / Paddington Bear topic and add-in a written component. The plan and resources are detailed as this was created for an observed lesson. This was a Knowledge & Understanding slash literacy activity. Really excited to do this lesson! Included are: Lesson plan with Welsh curriculum links. Differentiated 3 ways. Items to cut out for Paddingtons suitcase. 2 suitcase clipart images to choose from. LA list-style writing prompt. MA/HA sentence writing prompt. For my outdoor provision I had bread, marmalade and butter knives so the ch. could practice fine-motor and maths skills (halves, quarters). I also had a vintage trunk and assorted clothes/items in the role play area, with a globe and laminated cards about the weather in different countries so they could pack a suitcase for Paddington if he were to go somewhere else. You can find the weather cards here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/weather-in-different-countries-cards-to-laminate-11917775
