French in Songs

Songs I wrote to teach French at BGE / KS3 / Junior High levels. They usually follow the books STUDIO 1, 2 and 3. Can also work with EXPO and METRO. All lyrics: me. All music: me Except ‘si vous votez pour moi’ music: OXYDZ. For England and Wales. S1=Y7. S2=Y8. S3=Y9. Northern Ireland: Y8-9-10. USA: 6th-7th-8th Grade. I am sharing this for free. Feel free to use it in your classroom. Don’t uplaod / share it as your own. This is 10B in the series and continues the story of Arthur’s adventures in England form story no. 10. It demonstrates use of demonstrative and possessive adjectives and completes the grammar in Unit 10. On the cover page there are comprehension questions. Sadly, I cannot upload the sound file but a teacher can read out the text. We use the this for both listening and reading comprehension. You can white out the words if you want to use it for listening and students then have the comic pictures as support.

It demonstrates use of diferent passé composé verbs used together. On the cover page there are comprehension questions. Sadly, I cannot upload the sound file but a teacher can read out the text. We use the this for both listening and reading comprehension. You can white out the words if you want to use it for listening and students then have the comic pictures as support. There is a you tube video to support this. It can also be used to show students about the sites to see in Paris. There is also a version using the future proche which may be more suitable for students who have not yet done the passé composé and will fit with unit 3 of Tapis Volant 2.

Le temps (Weather) - French - Board Game - Speaking and Listening Skills

This is a board game to practise speaking and listening skills on the topic of weather in French. Pupils play in groups of 2 -4. Simply print slide 4 for each group - this is the board. Laminate or print on to card for increased durability. Each group will also need a dice - a template is provided to be printed and assembled if needed. Players move around the board asking and answering questions about the weather. There are three different help sheets included, as well as full instructions on how the game can be extended further. Also included are powerpoint slides which introduce the weather phrases - together with the game this could be the main part of a lesson.

Vendez la maison! (Home or Away: A place in the sun)

This powerpoint and the accompanying worksheets is an oral activity for two groups of students. Each group has to try to sell one house to the teacher or a jury. Following the concept of the TV show Home or Away: A Place in the Sun, one of the houses is in the client’s homeland and the other is in a more exotic country. The groups will compete against each other to try to sell their house to the client, who has a specific profile and a set of demands that must be met by the house. The powerpoint allows for guided preparation of the task, then the groups research the house and its area for 30mn and prepare their speech. The winning group (most convincing, best-prepared, best oral skills) wins a prize. My students really enjoyed this concept!
