School rules - consolidation, tests and revision

School rules - consolidation, tests and revision

The teacher presentation is a summary of 20 school rules using modal verbs. This is great for revision. There are two tests. In one test the pupils match the English statement to the German phrase in a grid. Alternatively the grid could be cut up and used in a kagan "Quiz Quiz trade" activity. The second test is translation from English to German. There is differentiated support whereby the number of letters provided for each word is provided. This works well as reinforcement to assess recall of the vocabulary.

KS4 German: Write a report on your teacher!

KS4 German: Write a report on your teacher!

Slightly tongue-in-cheek lesson about writing a report on your teacher. Pupils read my report and fill in the appropriate endings, then pick out the best grammatical structures, and finally use what they've learnt to write their own reports on a teacher (suitable for a guessing game on which teacher they&'re talking about). Fun for my top-set year 10s.

Echo 3 Grün/Rot K2 Coole Schule E3 Nicht gut genug! School reports

Echo 3 Grün/Rot K2 Coole Schule E3 Nicht gut genug! School reports

Lesson and worksheet linked with Echo 3, chapter 2, unit 3, on the topic of school reports. The worksheet is a starter activity (based on types of words); the presentation contains a starter on 'denn/weil', and the lesson leads towards students' writing their own school reports for their teachers using comparisons. Potentially fun!

Ghost poem perfect imperfect

Ghost poem perfect imperfect

A series of lessons slotted into the topic of school for introducing and practising using the perfect and imperfect tenses in German. The poem is a fantastic activity that works like magic when you translate between the perfect and imperfect - suddenly it rhymes! (will be clear when you see it) The .ppt contains help with vocabulary, and the other .ppt is a lesson which links in with the Edexcel textbook text on Kalib/Angola.

German_Term_1_Lessons_1_to_3

German_Term_1_Lessons_1_to_3

Includes German for beginners (Lesson 1), At school (Lesson 2) and time + assessment (Lesson 3). Assessment 1 is linked to Lesson 1. Rules of behaviour at the beginning of each ppt. Works well with German beginners throughout the school. I've found that the assessments are very handy in measuring pupils progress throughout the term.
