Authority KS3 RS Religious Education Scheme of work unit Y7 Y8 or Y9

Authority KS3 RS Religious Education Scheme of work unit Y7 Y8 or Y9

This unit includes all you need to teach for around a term to KS3. There are lesson power points with back up activities, sheets, discussion points, resources, assessments etc. There is an assessment record page and a scheme of work to go with the powerpoint too. I have also written a three hour Flip Learning Project which substitutes some of the lessons as additional extra., the 99 names of God. Unit looks at leaders across faiths, holy scripture/Qu’ran as authority, Muhammad’s Night of Power and issue of obedience to authority/tradition/culture etc through wearing of coverings as a decision for Muslim women. This unit is a bridging unit into Islam another unit I have uploaded as pupils enjoyed this so much, I wrote a full unit on Islam for them for the next term. The PPT has 12 lessons and 53 slides with activities. You can pretty much walk into the room and teach from it, without further resources. Ideal if RS cover teacher or non-specialist too. I have developed a whole unit work from Year 5 up to Year 8 which I am now uploading. These have taken me hundreds of hours so I hope this saves you lots of time. Happy Sunday!

Full lesson worksheet on extremism - with levelled reading tasks - good for interview lessons, etc

Full lesson worksheet on extremism - with levelled reading tasks - good for interview lessons, etc

Here is an A3 booklet-style worksheet on extremism and terrorism. There are 3 worksheets for differentiation of reading tasks. I planned this for an interview lesson (yes, I got the job!) and therefore it can operate as a ‘stand alone’ lesson on extremism, or be incorporated as part of a scheme of learning. Starter task asks students to compare 2 suspect profiles and decide which one is the terrorist. Suspect 2 is Jihadi John, but they will all assume it is suspect 1. This opens up discussion. The main lesson task is to work in pairs, reading the info about Dylann Roof and Jihadi John. This is the part of the lesson that is differentiated into different reading ages. Once read, they compare their notes and draw conclusions together. The Plenary is to write an answer about the causes of terrorism and apply them to how they could help to make the world better. In colour, with maps & infographs to make it attractive, this is a flexible resource which allows you to demonstrate your teaching ability however the lesson unfolds - the key to interview lessons.
