Afterlife: what happens when we die?

Included in this is a PPT containing a discussion based lesson of approximately 55 minutes. There is a differentiated success criteria for each student to aim for and assess themselves against at different points as a mini-plenary as well as a challenge question to consider throughout. It is a primarily discussion based lesson on what can be a very sensitive subject. For the main activity there is an explanation of how to best present your example and the conclusion of the activity which MUST be read prior to teaching. This was taught to a year 5 mixed ability class but could easily work for KS2. Edit, use, adapt and enjoy!

This unit includes all you need to teach for around a term to KS3. I have also written a two to three hour Flip Learning Project with an example of one completed. Christianity around the world is covered from different countries with a range of activiites and discussion points for each. Easter around the world is also included. The children really enjoyed learning about diversity within a faith. The PPT has 13 lessons and 69 slides with activities. You can pretty much walk into the room and teach from it, without further resources. Ideal if RS cover teacher or non-specialist too. Jewish Shema, Sikh 5 Ks, Buddhist 5 precepts, 5 Pillars of Islam and life of St Paul in the New Testament (these are only story references with pages linked to books we have in school so you would need to develop this slide further if you do not have children’s Bibles to read from). I will build on this next year but we had a long term so I added them in to keep me going… The PPT has 10 lessons and 63 slides with activities.
