Canva - how to create a logo with a transparent background

Canva - how to create a logo with a transparent background

Canva is an excellent, free, design tool that can save us time and money. It makes sense to use this instead of paying for expensive designers. This step by step guide addresses the problem of not being able to create a transparent background logo in Canva (without paying). When the background is white or doesn’t match your document, it ends up looking unprofessional. Solution:  The logo is created in Canva.  Once created and saved, we use a separate website to make the white background transparent.  It can then be used for multiple documents with ease and have that professional look to it.

Effective Email Communication - Writing Emails Powerpoint Presentation

Effective Email Communication - Writing Emails Powerpoint Presentation

This resource is a Powerpoint Presentation that can be used to train people on how to write emails effectively. I have used this on a leadership course and it was well received. There are some time saving gems in here that can be easily implemented into your work day. There are also tasks that can be completed in pairs or groups. Lots of areas for discussion. Also a good opportunity for businesses to think about and discuss best practice for their own organisation. The average office worker receives around 80 emails each day. With that volume of mail, individual messages can easily get overlooked. Follow these simple rules to get your emails noticed and acted upon: Don't over communicate by email. Make good use of subject lines. Keep messages clear and brief. Be polite. Check your tone. Proofread. ** Leave a review for this resource and receive one free resource of your choice from my shop. Vocational Functional Vocabulary List

Vocational Functional Vocabulary List

A list of functional vocabulary words and definitions related to working and having a job. Includes terms related to getting a job (references, qualifications, etc.), retail stores (SKU, customer satisfaction), employee qualities (professionalism, punctuality), and job positions (employee, volunteer, executive, etc.) I used these for a high school special education student with autism, and taught them in sets of 3 using flashcards presented in discrete trials. These terms are relevant to many students getting into vocational work who may need some extra help learning these important terms. I had a hard time finding resources or pages that listed vocabulary words related to vocational needs, so I have listed it here for anybody else running into the same issue! Suggestions for use: use these terms to make flashcards, make into a worksheet or teach/review in a discussion to a whole class.
