Well presented written text (1 page) on social media with gaps to fill and plenty of translation opportunity. KS5 level **On the second page there is a rough translation from a previous pupil which is not error free but would be of use in determining the answers for the gap fill. **

Ich bin online Quiz Quiz Trade Style

Ich bin online Quiz Quiz Trade Style

Having never used Quiz Quiz Trade cards before, I did a quick HOW TO Google search today, modified the layout slightly and made my first ever (simple) resource! It’s targeted at year 7 German to go with Stimmt 1 Kapitel 3 for questioning and speaking. There is an Excel and Word Document available in case you need to edit or add more easily. Instructions: Word Doc Print the document and slice along each row (might need to duplicate for a bigger class) Give one each to students and ask them to fold the German section over. Students walk around and say the question to another student in TL (with or without looking at questions for differentiation) If the partner doesn’t understand they can ask for the question to be repeated/the German version to be shown/the English version to be shown, but they must answer in German as best as they can. If the person asking the questions believes they have replied correctly, repeat step 3 and 4 with the other person asking their question. If this partner answers correctly, swap cards physically over, move around and repeat steps 3-5 with someone else. Feel free to modify and use however you like. This is just how I’m using it.

18 AQA German GCSE Revision Mats Themes 1, 2 and 3. Differentiated.

I have created these revision mats on AQA's key topics to aid my students with their revision, especially writing and speaking. Each mat is divided into the following sections: Definite delights, the past tense, the future tense, the conditional tense, attention-grabbing adjectives and showstoppers. Key languages is modelled for students to feedforward into their exams. There are also 4 mats included, showing subordinate clauses being used in themes 1, 2, and 3, as my students struggle with using these. A black copy of the subordinate mat is also included for you to adapt with your classes. As well as this, there is a revision mat on the future tense with examples of each pronoun in the future tense for each theme. The topics covered by the revision mats are : Theme 1 1) Customs and Festivals 2) Self and Relationships 3) Food and Drink 4)Technology and Social Media Theme 2 5) The Environment 6) Travel and Transport - a double-sided revision mat 7) My Town - a double-sided revision mat 8) Health and Fitness 9) Smoking 10) Poverty and Homelessness 11) Where do you live Theme 3 12) School 13) Comparison between German and English schools. 14) University or work?

How to communicate in German over the phone

How to communicate in German over the phone

Communicating over the phone can be pretty challenging for learners of German. Simply because you have to rely on your ability to verbally express your idea and hope the person on the other end will understand. You can’t use gestures or point to what you want or simply show it. You need to speak German, describe what you want with words and know the range of vocabulary to do so. This resource will help you understand what the person on the other end may say to you and how to react to it. Enjoy!
