FRENCH ~ My daily Routine and Time Game

FRENCH ~ My daily Routine and Time Game

Board game using reflexive verbs to describe your daily routine. Times have also been added, so as to revise 'À Quel heure?' Please see worksheet for rules as these differ from the regular snakes and ladders game. Playing any game is a fun way to practice and reinforce new vocabulary. Game can be used for any foreign language. If you consider this worth buying 'un très grand merci.' My thanks to cliparts.co, clker.com and cliparthut.com for the use of the clipart images.

German: Time Worksheet and Wordsearch

German: Time Worksheet and Wordsearch

A very fun activity that can be used anywhere in a lesson, but works especially well as a starter, plenary or homework. This worksheet is probably best given to students in year 9 and older. It is basically a series of questions to test their skills in writing down times of the day in German, followed by a useful wordsearch that introduces some new vocabulary. Students will have to write down times of the day like the examples below: 12.35 = fünfundzwanzig vor eins 3.15 = Viertel nach drei This worksheet also introduces learners to the words 'mittag' and 'mitternacht'.

KS3/4 German Bundle: Present/Perfect practice - housework, pocket money, travel

KS3/4 German Bundle: Present/Perfect practice - housework, pocket money, travel

Sequence of 4-5 lessons building towards an oral assessment. Topics: hobbies, housework, pocket money, travel. Grammar: present tense, perfect tense, modal verbs, separable verbs, reflexive verbs, subordinating conjunctions. Lesson 1) All students receive the 2-page handout as a learning aid/revision of syntactic structures studied. The other document is printed out double-sided onto A4 (card if possible) and cut up so each piece has 5 sentences on one side, and the answers on the other. From here it works as a carousel: Everyone has one card, and has 5 minutes (or less) to translate all five sentences. Then one minute to mark (2 marks per sentence - 1 mark up to the /, 1 mark afterwards - if it's not perfect, no mark). Lesson 2) is a series of tasks explained on the ppt. Lesson 3) Is a lesson targeting the students' propensity to forget all about the perfect when on the spot! Ask me if unclear. Lesson 4) Should also be self-explanatory. Lesson 5) (or perhaps the end of lesson 4) was a mock oral exam, using this as a marking grid.
