Claim the parcel translation game Mi Trabajo New GCSE Viva AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Activity for revising different verb tenses and topics from new GCSE AQA books. You have a table with different verbs tenses/sentences and project it on your interactive whiteboard/wall. In groups of 2 (max 3) they write the answer in Spanish to one of the parcels/boxes on their mini white boards, come to you at the front of the class (you check) and if they have the answer correct they can claim the parcel/box. You write their names/team name on a post it notes and stick it over the parcel/box on the interactive whiteboard. Then, no one can do this parcel/box anymore. The winner is the group to have most parcels/boxes claimed at the end. Works well as end of module revision or translation practice. Don't forget to feedback!

Grouped by theme (School and Future Plans) but all higher tier, this resource can be printed as an exam pack, perhaps for the school holidays or as a long-term homework assignment; or printed as individual sheets to be used in class as starters, plenaries, or mini-assessments. All exam boards have been sampled, but all are relevant to the School and Future Plans theme. Also included is a mark scheme, designed to be printed as an A5 booklet. This allows either peer or self-assessment, or the work to be used by cover teachers who may not be subject specialists.

A "must have" teaching resource dedicated to the new WJEC AS level syllabus specification beginning September '17 This PowerPoint (33 slides) covers the topic EDUCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES from Theme 1 ''Being a young person in Spanish-speaking society'' within the new specifications and is brim-full of relevant links/materials. There is also a very detailed 44 pages booklet with various relevant articles from Spanish newspapers and reading exercises following the new spec . There are also two video links (Jóvenes viviendo en el extranjero y Pisos patada) with activities and vocabulary lists. Also the online you will find here the WJEC online resources. Answers have been provided. This power point and booklet have been produced by an experienced A Level oral examiner and Spanish national and enhanced with input from other Spanish national academics and professionals. This lesson revises the conjugation of the subjunctive (from Lesson 1) and then allows students to complete a Reading activity with opportunities to exploit and improve the text. I have used a particular Grade Criteria descriptor grid but this can be easily replaced with alternative Grade Criteria descriptors. Students will then practise a GCSE style photo card with a view to creating answers as spontaneously as possible with only 5-10 minutes preparation before practising the questions and answers in pairs. Finally, students will create a GCSE paragraph in response to a GCSE Speaking question based on differentiated prompts.

Students will practise the conjugation of the subjunctive and then create sentences which will be improved through group peer-assessment.

This lesson deals with details relating to travelling in Spain (train stations, airports, etc. ) and exploits the unit specific vocabulary and phrases through Listening skills and students will also complete a reading based activity. Students will conduct spontaneous dialogues and write a GCSE ready against Grade descriptors and be stretched/challenged to incorporate AQA GCSE specific topic vocabulary. The Grade Descriptors I have included are specific to my lessons and can easily be replaced with other examples of Grade Descriptors.

This resource was created for my Y10/11 students as a way to help them prepare for the Writing and Speaking components of the new AQA GCSE Spanish examinations. Contains 2 Word documents: 1. Foundation level 2. Higher level with a colour coded system to highlight the more complex structures and extra tenses Both texts include opinion phrases, different tenses and are translated in English to help comprehension. I have added the AQA recommended vocabulary from the "Current and future study" section. It is fully editable and once downloaded just remove the boxes to see the texts.
