Physical education theory scheme of work ideas

Physical education theory scheme of work ideas

This is a table with ideas and brief descriptions for theory elements to enhance / run alongside a physical education scheme, provide sport based cross-curricular classroom based lessons (such as using sports journalism in an English lesson), or form part of a PSHE scheme. This would be ideal for late KS2 and KS3. Please note, within the table it references resources and their locations, however, these are not included directly with this resource and refers to my personal drive. Some of the resources within are uploaded separately on TES or you could create your own based on the descriptors. You will find AQA unit awards referenced within if your school uses them.

An excellent interactive revision game aimed at encouraging students to improve their application of specific terminology in their answers. <br /> An excellent interactive revision game designed to improve students knowledge of exam question command words, how marks are awarded and improve their application of key theory principles from both paper 1 and paper 2. On each answer board there are a total of 36 questions for students to devise an exam style question to. Colour key for boxes: Yellow – Chapter 1: Applied Anatomy & Physiology Orange – Chapter 2: Movement Analysis Blue – Chapter 3: Physical Training Red – Chapter 4: Sports Psychology Green – Chapter 5: Social-Cultural Factors Pink – Chapter 6: Health & Fitness Rules of game / how I used for revision The aim of the game is for students to devise an AQA specific question including an appropriate command word, subject content and marks awarded for each answer. I printed off the PowerPoint in advance and each student had a paper copy to complete. Students worked in groups of 4 taking it in turns to devise an appropriate question for the answer of the square they have selected. They had to use the following command words: AO1 – Identify, state, list, describe, define AO2 – Explain, Identify and explain We went through each board as a class to highlight the different answers. First team to finish then rotated around to assist others. I hope that you find these resources useful.
