Understanding who you are and how you communicate

Understanding who you are and how you communicate

As part of a PSHCE or SEND SOW this lesson(s) can be used to explore the different ways individuals learn, what the best way to learn is for them and also how communication can impact on themselves and others positively and negatively. This is a mini SOW that can take up to 3 lessons depending on your learners. The language and time taken can be adapted to fit the needs of all learners, I currently use this with a SEND group and talk them through the activities. This was originally designed to provide students who were struggling with social, emotional skills to develop self awareness and understanding which in turn would improve their ability to access learning in the classroom.

Rugby - PowerPoint and Teaching Display Materials + 31 Ways To Use This Resource In The Classroom

Rugby - PowerPoint and Teaching Display Materials + 31 Ways To Use This Resource In The Classroom

This is a great resource to show at the same time the World Rugby Cup is on. Discuss the actions on the playing field, the different aspects of the game and how the players are feeling in each photo. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different activities being shown in each of the photos. I also added a PowerPoint to show you 31 different ways you could use this teaching resource in your classroom. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about Rugby. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groupings. The students can then discuss what they think each one was saying or thinking. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

Advent Assembly - December 2017 - Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

Advent Assembly- December 2017 This assembly is suitable for pupils in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. If you have you ever had an Advent Calendar you will know that the idea is to open a numbered door every day from 1st of December to Christmas Eve. Behind each door is a surprise, often chocolate but, have you ever wondered why we have Advent Calendars and what Advent is all about? This age-appropriate, thought-provoking assembly explains the true meaning of Advent and asks us to consider how we as individuals can make this time of year even more special. As the frenzied hustle and bustle whirls around us, perhaps we could all use an extra dose of spiritual peace and joy this Christmas season. This pack will save you hours of prep time. It comprises of a 24-slide power-point presentation with detailed notes, an Advent carol music accompaniment and an Advent prayer. The presentation can be used in a number of ways; • for a school assembly • as a loop on the school’s visual display system • as part of a lesson.
