#### Calculations instructions for parents

An information sheet I wrote on how to complete maths calculations in Year 5. There is a space on the left where I hand-wrote in the calculation (only do this once, then you can photocopy), then on the right there is a box of instructions. I gave these out each year to parents to help them to complete homework with their child and they always said how useful it was. Before making this, I was often met by lots of parents who needed a reminder of how to do long multiplication, or who were teaching their child different methods to those used in school (ending up in lots of confusion!). This sheet solved the problem perfectly. Uploaded as a word document so that the instructions can be modified to suit your school’ s calculation policy.
