Emotion TEACHING Card Set

Emotion TEACHING Card Set

The Emotion TEACHING Cards are a set of bright, colorful cards that are designed to help children identify emotions that are positive, in-between and negative. This set comes with two instruction and idea cards for teachers, and then six cards for each of the three emotions. Each emotion set is represented by a different color and comes with:\ an intro card that explains how that emotion makes you feel and a matching ocean reference a card that shows photographs of faces that represent the emotion a card that points out the facial features of the emotion a card that presents a vocabulary for the emotion a card that says what you might do when experiencing that emotion a card that suggests appropriate forms of action for each emotion These cards were designed to support children with Autism, who may have trouble identifying their own feelings, or recognising the feelings of others just by looking at their facial expression. Over time, these cards could assist children to associate the expressions they’ve seen on the cards, with the faces of those they are interacting with. They are meant to be cut out, assembled and fastened with a lanyard or ring, so that they can be either worn by parents or teachers, or be hung up in a place where children are able to access them when they need to. This card set beautifully compliments the How Am I Feeling Right Now? poster and the How Do I Feel? Emotion Cards that I also have listed. (The cards shown in preview are only SOME of the complete set you will receive on download) Thank you for shopping at LittlePeopleLove! I hope you enjoy your products and find them both lovely to look at and supportive of the special little people in your life! Kate xx

How Do I Feel Right Now? Emotion Scale

How Do I Feel Right Now? Emotion Scale

This colorful, engaging poster was designed especially for children with Autism, but it would also be helpful to all children when displayed in classrooms, particularly in the junior year levels. It includes groups of emotions based words and matches them with a child’s facial expression and a photo of the ocean, that reflects how they might be feeling on the inside. Fantastic as a teaching tool for when children are in a calm and relaxed state, then progresses to an emotional diagnostic tool for children when they’re having feelings that they are unable to express verbally. This poster beautifully compliments the Emotions Cards and Emotion TEACHING Cards I also have listed. Thank you for shopping at LittlePeopleLove! I hope you enjoy your products and find them both lovely to look at and supportive of the special little people in your life! Kate xx

Anxiety and mindfulness as a tool to build resilience.

Anxiety and mindfulness as a tool to build resilience.

This animated Power Point looks at anxiety issues facing young teenagers today and shares tips on how to cope. Mindfulness is one tool to cope with anxiety as are talking therapies and artistic pursuits . A poem called “the room inside” is displayed which could be used as a starting point to a discussion about mental health. Students are asked to consider volunteering and doing something positive with their time once exams are over. An extract from Eleanor Morgan’s book “Anxiety for Beginners” is given and six plot ideas are given which relate to anxiety. Pupils are asked to select one of these to write about. Lastly students are asked to think about the saying “every cloud has a silver lining” and to share strategies for developing resilience. Suitable for ages 12+

Pupil Well being group full planning and resources

Pupil Well being group full planning and resources

This is a plan of 8 sessions for pupil well being. I have planned it for KS2 but could easily be adapted for KS1 or more vulnerable KS3 pupils. I have written them using some ideas from Thrive and Nurture group training and some other, wider reading (some of the happiness resources are from Relax Kids and can be downloaded for free. Everything else I have made myself). Sessions address: helpful and unhelpful thoughts, happiness, being in nature and how this helps us, having a healthy body (exercise), superheroes - celebrating being us, how our friends help us, healthy bodies (diet - cooking, including recipes) and developing imagination and increasing independence.

Are you feeling anxious? - Mental health

Are you feeling anxious? - Mental health

A great little visual for children to start scaling their anxiety and using some calming techniques to try and calm down. This is geared towards tests! Lots of children do feel anxious before a test. Try asking them to scale how anxious they are then to try one of the techniques. Do they feel less anxious now?
