Animal Care, Unit 2, Incident Reporting and RIDDOR

These resources cover everything on incident reporting in the Pearson specification. Save yourself an evening - it's done or you. This usually takes two lessons to complete during which students will learn the difference between minor and major injuries and how each should be reported. They will also learn the purpose of reporting and recording incidents. Optional task: Create their own incident report form OR students can use the scenarios provided to complete the blank incident report form that is included. Animal Diseases Cards

Animal Diseases Cards

Unit 1 Animal Health - BTEC level 1/2 Animal Care - Animal Diseases 'top trump style' cards. I have used these to revise and learn the different diseases of the 6 specified animals. Each card includes the following: B,V or F; transmission, zoonotic / notifiable, animal(s) affected, symptoms and signs, treatments, preventions and then in the box at the bottom an interesting fact (not necessarily syllabus content related). There is also a photograph of either the microscopic disease or animal signs. MY students have found them helpful to train each other to identify which diseases are zoonotic or notifiable, they have grouped them too, noted similarities and differences between diseases etc. I hope your student find them helpful too. Any errors are my own but I would welcome feedback on errors or additions you might think will be helpful in the future.

Animal Care Unit One Scenario Questions for Revision

Animal Care Unit One Scenario Questions for Revision

This revision resource is made for the BTEC First Level 2 in Animal Care. It links to the Unit 1 Animal Health specification produced by BTEC. The questions are all scenario based and cover information from across unit one. The resource is produced in word so you can cut out the questions you want to use, alter the questions as you wish or move them to power points etc. I would use this later in the revision plan as pupils will need to have knowledge across the unit to answer the questions.
