Job overview

We are looking to appoint an experienced individual to join our dynamic senior management team to co-lead our all through school in its next period of growth and success.

It is a complex role handling all the operations and estate functions of a busy school. A key part is financial control and forecasting and advising the Head on all financial matters. The school benefits from expert advice centrally from United Learning including accounting. Mrs Pippa Smithson is building and developing a new senior team to grow this historic school. Backed by United Learning, the school is embarking on a period of consolidating two sites onto one, combined with a major capital building programme. The school has been going through a significant period of change and is emerging with growing pupil numbers and ambitious plans for the future.

The role will suit an energetic individual who is highly motivated in inspiring and delivering positive change, and who thrives in an environment where they can make a real impact. Consequently, the ideal candidate will possess the creativity, drive and a can do attitude in order to add some real value to a forward looking management team.

While experience within the education sector is desirable, to be commercially astute with relevant experience and transferable skills is essential.

The school is potentially able to offer accommodation if required, along with a salary commensurate with the role

The school has engaged the services of David Williams of Bursar Search to advise in this role, and interested candidates are asked to contact him in the first instance by phone on 07713 091657, or via email at david@bursarsearch.com

United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
